Ribbed Pie Dish
There is a continual element of surprise with clay work, and I'm pleased to see this shallow dish from my previous post form into a type of ribbed pie dish, which will also double as serving ware.
The facet work reminds me of a cozy ribbed sweater.
The details in this piece will make for beautiful characteristics in the glaze. I'm thinking this piece will be a soft peach, or buff on the outside and white inside.
As I refine my craft I am pleased that I've reached a point to where I don't labor over one piece on the pottery wheel. Throwing faster allows me to create more and explore texturing techniques. I'm going to pursue more faceted work in my upcoming serving ware collection.
