I'm working on large bowls and rounded tumblers made with various clays. The largest bowl at the top right is one foot wide, and I think will be great for serving pasta and salads. I love throwing large bowls on the pottery wheel, and with each piece I'm actively teaching myself how to make the next bowl larger, more even and lightweight.
These pieces are photographed at a bisqued fired stage. Each piece will be brushed in gloss white and clear matte glaze. The second fire in the kiln will darken the peach-toned bowls to a chocolate brown, the lighter bowls with develop a sandy brown. I can't wait to see how they turn out when we unload the kiln.
